The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM.

2. DISCUSSION ITEMS
2. A. Discussion and Possible Action to Name a Facility or Structure after Surlene Grant
The committee reviewed the information on the history of name changes in San Leandro. After hearing public comment, the Vice Mayor Thomas suggested renaming the new community room in the south offices building, and councilmember Ballew suggested the “Triangle” plaza that will be constructed at the intersection of East 14th St., 150th Ave., and Hesperian Blvd. after Surlene Grant.
Based on the Administrative Code, the committee will forward their recommendation to the Library-Historical Commission for further review. The Library-Commission’s review will be forwarded to the full Council, who will make the final determination,
Recommendation: To review the possibility of naming the community room in the south offices building or the triangle plaza after Surlene Grant.
