RESOLUTION of the City of San Leandro City Council to Approve a Consulting Services Agreement with TJKM Transportation Consultants for the Design of the East 14th Street/144th Avenue and East 14th Street/Joaquin Avenue Signal Projects in the Amount of $72,612 and Authorizing the City Manager to Negotiate and Execute Individual Contract Amendments up to 10% ($7,261) and Cumulative Amendments up to a Maximum of 25% ($18,153)

WHEREAS, the City was awarded 2016-17 Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) grant funds to install a High-intensity Activated Crosswalk (HAWK) signal at the East 14th Street at 144th Avenue intersection and a Scramble Pedestrian Signal Phase to the existing signal at the East 14th Street and Joaquin Avenue intersection; and
WHEREAS, proposals were sought from consultants who specialize in design of traffic signals; and
WHEREAS, after reviewing proposals from four consultants, staff recommends that TJKM Transportation Consultants should be retained for design services for these traffic signals in the amount of $72,612; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends the City Council authorize the City Manager to negotiate and approve Individual Contract Amendments up to 10% ($7,261) and Cumulative Amendments up to Maximum of 25% ($18,153); and
WHEREAS, a Consulting Services Agreement for TJKM Transportation Consultants, a copy of which is attached, is presented to this City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents of the agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows:
• That said agreement is hereby approved and execution by the City Manager is hereby authorized; and
• That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to negotiate and approve individual contract amendments up to 10% ($7,261) and cumulative amendments up to a maximum of 25% ($18,153).
