SUMMARY
Staff and consultant Alex Greenwood, of the Greenwood Group, will provide an overview and update on implementation of the Innovation Action Plan. The Plan outlines ways to attract and retain innovative businesses that create good jobs and revenue for public services. Four high-growth sectors where San Leandro has a strategic advantage include the Clean Technology, Food Technology, Advanced Manufacturing and BioMedical industries.
Staff and consultants Edward del Beccaro, of TRI Commercial, and Christine Furstenberg, of Metrovation Retail Resources, will provide an overview of the Retail Action Plan. The Retail Action Plan provides a clear, actionable framework to help the City improve, expand, and modernize its retail base in response to shifting demographics, market realities, and national retail trends.
Both the Innovation and Retail Action Plans are under the City’s Economic Development Strategy adopted in 2024. The City Council’s Economic Development Work Plan contains key goals and actions under the ED Strategy, including the Innovation and Retail Action Plans.
