WHEREAS, the San Leandro Police Department depends upon our Police Service Aides and Police Service Technicians to provide vital services including language translation to our diverse community and provide complete and accurate records; and
WHEREAS, the Police Service Aides and Police Service Technicians are crucial to helping the San Leandro Police Department identify, pursue, apprehend and process suspected law breakers; and
WHEREAS, the Records Personnel of the San Leandro Police Department continually use their expertise and experience to assist in tracking felons, maintaining criminal statistics and consistently maintain professionalism by displaying compassion and understanding while performing their duties; and
WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro greatly appreciates the women who serve as Police Service Aides and Police Service Technicians and recognizes the more than 11,000 police and accident reports they manage on a yearly basis, and the role they play in protecting the lives and safety of the people who work and live in San Leandro;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Pauline Russo-Cutter, Mayor of the City of San Leandro, along with the rest of the City Council, do hereby proclaim, November 7th, 2016 as “Law Enforcement Records and Support Personnel Day.”
