Motion to Approve the 2026 Rules Committee Meeting Schedule

RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the Rules Committee review and approve the 2026 Rules Committee Meeting Schedule.
BACKGROUND
The City Council Member Handbook, adopted by Resolution No. 2025-117, requires Council Committees to adopt an annual meeting schedule.
The Rules Committee currently meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 9:00 am, with the exception of August, when no meetings are held.
For November and December, proposed meeting dates have been moved to the third Wednesday in anticipation of the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, subject to approval by the Rules Committee.
Proposed meeting dates are below and in the attached draft calendar:
• January 28, 2026
• February 25, 2026
• March 25, 2026
• April 22, 2026
• May 27, 2026
• June 24, 2026
• July 22, 2026
• September 23, 2026
• October 28, 2026
• November 18, 2026
• December 16, 2026
