Resolution Approving the Voluntary Incentive Separation Program for Eligible City Employees Affected by Lack of Redevelopment Funding

WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that administrative funding which pays for Redevelopment staffing has been severely curtailed by the State; and
 
WHEREAS, the City Manager is recommending an incentive program for voluntary separation in order to minimize the impacts of layoff; and
 
WHEREAS, the City will restrict the approved Program to those full-time individuals affected by lack of Redevelopment funding in the Community Development Department, who are willing to separate voluntarily prior to July 1, 2012, and who will receive an incentive amount capped at a maximum of $15,000 per eligible individual.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows:
 
That the Voluntary Incentive Separation Program for those eligible employees affected by the lack of Redevelopment Funding in order to provide an incentive for separation is hereby approved and implementation of said Program by the City Manager is hereby authorized.
