RECOMMENDATIONS
Staff requests that the City Council review, approve, and authorize the City Manager to execute an animal shelter services agreement with the East Bay SPCA with a not to exceed amount of $720,000.00 for two Fiscal Years, FY 2023-2024 and FY 2024-2025.
BACKGROUND
The Police Department currently utilizes the East Bay SPCA to provide quality animal sheltering services as part of its core service delivery to the community.
The SPCA allotted 400 animals per year to San Leandro for the contracted amount of $360,000.00 dollars annually.

Financial Impacts
Funds budgeted in Fiscal Year 2023-2024 and Fiscal Year 2024-2025 General Fund are sufficient to cover the cost of the Animal Shelter services.
