RESOLUTION Authorizing the City Manager to Execute an Amendment to the Consulting Services Agreement with The Lew Edwards Group for Strategic Consulting Services (approves a $62,400 change order, to be paid for out of account number 010-12-020-5120)

WHEREAS, an agreement dated December 13, 2013, exists between the City of San Leandro and The Lew Edwards Group; and
WHEREAS, in the course of this project, staff determined that additional work beyond the previously adopted scope of work is necessary in order to effectively gauge community priorities and provide information to the public associated with the revenue measure that will appear on the November 2014 ballot; and
WHEREAS, this work would consist of updating the City's informational efforts for newsletters, copy for links on City websites, and informational presentations; recommending methods to disseminate budget, service, and measure information; conceiving and producing up to three informational mailers about City fiscal and service needs and revenue measure information; updating presentations and other collateral information materials; and advising on media strategies and addressing rapid response informational needs; and
WHEREAS, the above efforts would be provided for a term to be effective from August 1, 2014 through October 31, 2014.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows:
That an amendment to the agreement between the City of San Leandro and The Lew Edwards Group to amend the scope of work of the agreement at a cost not to exceed $62,400 (including $13,500 for consulting services and $48,900 for production, postage and distribution of up to three mailers), for a total not to exceed amount of $128,900 is hereby approved; and
