ADOPT:  Resolution Approving a Lease Agreement Between the City of San Leandro and the Alameda County Fire Department for the Fire Training Center Located at 890 Lola Street for $130,000 Per Annum, Increasing by 3.5% Annually (provides for the continuation of emergency training)

Body

WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro (“City”) has leased the Alameda County Fire Department (“ACFD”) the property known as the Fire Training Center since 1995 for the purpose of emergency training; and

WHEREAS, the City and the ACFD wish to continue their cooperative relationship and allow training on the site; and

WHEREAS, the City wishes to spread the burden of the lease with all member agencies of the ACFD; and

WHEREAS, the lease is for a ten-year term, which will expire June 30, 2023, unless both parties agree to extend the term; and

WHEREAS, the lease contains details about maintenance and use of the site; and

WHEREAS, under the lease ACFD will pay the City an initial monthly rental fee in the amount of $10,782;

NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows:

That said lease agreement between the City and ACFD is hereby approved and execution by the City Manager is hereby authorized.
