RESOLUTION of the City of San Leandro City Council Authorizing the City Manager to Execute an Amendment to the Consulting Services Agreement with OIR Group for Internal Affairs Investigation Services, Training Review Report, and Presentation of Police Oversight Models, in an Amount Not to Exceed $95,000

 

Body

WHEREAS, on October 19, 2020, the City Council authorized an agreement with the OIR Group to provide consulting services for internal affairs investigation services, a training review report, and a presentation to the City Council on police oversight models in an amount not to exceed $55,000; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize an amendment to the above-referenced consulting services agreement with OIR Group to conduct an additional internal affairs investigation of current San Leandro Police Department peace officers and staff who were involved in the shooting incident that occurred on August 5, 2020 at or near Pearmain Street, Oakland, CA 94603; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents of the proposed amendments to the consulting services agreement and scope of work, a copy of which is attached to this Resolution.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows:

 

That the City Council approves, and the City Manager is authorized to execute an amendment to the Consulting Services Agreement with OIR Group, for a total amount not to exceed $95,000 using existing General Fund appropriations from the adopted FY 2020-2021 City budget.
