RECOMMENDATIONS

BACKGROUND
On February 2, 2026, the San Leandro City Council adopted Resolution No. 2026-011, calling a special municipal election to be held June 2, 2026, and requesting that the Alameda County Board of Supervisors permit the consolidation of the City's election with the Statewide Primary Election held on the same date.
The purpose of the special municipal election was to submit to the voters a proposed Charter amendment measure for the City's transition to a district-based elections system pursuant to the California Voting Rights Act (Measure F).
As required by the Elections Code, an official canvass of the votes was performed by the Alameda County Registrar of Voters, and a Certificate of the Election was provided to the City. The total number of votes cast upon Measure F is noted below:
Measure F
YES 14,851
NO 2,155
Because Measure F received a majority of yes votes cast (50% + 1), the measure has passed.
