FIREFIGHTER APPRECIATION MONTH
WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro recognizes the benefits derived from the hard work, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication that the men and women in the fire service have contributed throughout this country, including the communities of San Leandro and Alameda County; and
WHEREAS, firefighters continue to play an integral role in protecting the health and wellbeing of our residents and provide critical and timely support to those affected; and
WHEREAS, during the COVID-19 pandemic, firefighters have again demonstrated their commitment to service above self in the face of increased health and safety risks.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Pauline Russo Cutter, Mayor of the City of San Leandro, on behalf of the City Council, do hereby proclaim September 2022 as “FIREFIGHTER APPRECIATION MONTH” in the City of San Leandro and encourage residents to appreciate and recognize the firefighters willing to put their lives on the line and those who gave their lives to serve.
