SUMMARY
This contract provides for the design, permitting, and preparation of plans, specifications, and the engineer's estimate for the Lewelling Blvd. Class IV Bike Ways Project. This project will design new Class IV bike lanes along a segment of Lewelling Boulevard between Wicks Boulevard and Washington Avenue, to enhance bicyclist and pedestrian safety.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Staff recommend the following actions:
* Approve a Consultant Services Agreement in the amount of $510,000 to NCE for engineering design services for the Lewelling Blvd. Class IV Bike Ways Project.
* Authorize the City Manager or their designee to negotiate and approve individual contract amendments up to 5% (or $25,500) of the original contract amount.
* Authorize the City Manager or her designee to negotiate and approve cumulative contract amendments up to 15% ($76,500) of the original contract amount; and
* Appropriate $2,207,000 in ACTC grant funds for the subject project.
BACKGROUND
The project area covers approximately 1 mile of Lewelling Blvd. between Wicks Blvd. and Washington Ave., including design of improvements at the intersections at both ends.
