Body
WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro held a Arts and Culture Town Hall meeting on Saturday, November 16, 2013; and
 
WHEREAS, the format was interactive and offered multiple opportunities for participants to provide direction on the City's arts and culture programs; and
 
WHEREAS, the demonstration project to install art murals on traffic control and utility boxes on public sidewalks was presented by City staff and received strong support from public participants; and
 
WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation requires a Transportation Art and Community Identification Proposal application from the local public agency; and
 
WHEREAS, it is a requirement of the Transportation and Community Identification Proposal application to ensure that the City of San Leandro will bear the cost to install, maintain, remove, restore, and provide a resolution from the local public agency supporting the proposed utility box mural wrap demonstration project.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows:
 
That the City Manager is authorized to prepare and transmit the Transportation Art and Community Identification Proposal application and any other documents that may be necessary to effectuate the application.
