Recitals
 
WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro (the "City") owns that certain real property commonly known as 2015 Laura Avenue, APN 077-0655-144-01 (the "Property"), upon which a one-story vacant building is located; and
 
WHEREAS, the City acquired the Property in order to accommodate the widening of Davis Street for the I-880 HOV project and to install a park on the remainder of the parcel; and  
 
WHEREAS, the Alameda County Transportation Commission plans for the installation of a southbound HOV lane on I-880 and the widening of Davis Street changed, moving the roadway south to Caltrans right of way near Timothy Drive; and
 
WHEREAS, the City has learned through community outreach that neighboring residents are not interested in a park on the Property; and
 
WHEREAS, the City does not have a need or use for the Property, and does not wish to incur costs to maintain the Property; and
 
WHEREAS, the City desires to sell the Property.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows:
 
1.      The recitals above are hereby true and correct and incorporated herein.  
 
2.      The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to negotiate the sale of the Property and the drafting of a purchase and sale agreement for such sale, subject to approval of said agreement as to form by the City Attorney, and to bring the purchase and sale agreement back to the City Council for approval.
