SUMMARY
On April 7, 2026, the City Council voted 7-0 to introduce for First Reading an ordinance to approve and renew the Military Equipment, Funding, Acquisition and Use Policy (Policy) as stated in Municipal Code Chapter 4-42 in compliance with Assembly Bill 481.
A second reading is required to adopt Ordinance No. 2026-006, which would become effective 30 days after its adoption; if the Council adopts the ordinance, it would go into effect June 14, 2026.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Staff recommend that the City Council adopt at second reading Ordinance No. 2026-006 to renew the Policy.
