Staffreport
SUMMARY

This report is for information only and is prepared ahead of a presentation by MTC staff before the City Council at its September 15 meeting.

In March 2011, MTC, in partnership with I-880 corridor's stakeholders, including Caltrans District 4, the Alameda County Transportation Commission and the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority, embarked upon an I-880 Integrated Corridor Management (ICM) Project.  As part of this effort, the project team identified a coordinated freeway and arterial incident management strategy for deployment within the northern segment of the I-880 Corridor.

The I-880 ICM North Alameda Segment Project is a collaborative effort by MTC, in partnership with the Caltrans District 4, the Alameda County Transportation Commission (ACTC), City of San Leandro, City of Oakland and Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District (AC Transit) to develop an enhanced arterial incident management strategy for the I-880 Corridor.

At the City Council meeting, MTC staff will provide the project description, need and purpose, benefits to the City of San Leandro and the project schedule, as part of its presentation.  MTC staff will also provide this information to residents during the Open House portion of the Transportation Town Hall Forum on September 22, 2014 at the San Leandro Main Library from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
