RESOLUTION Authorizing the City Manager to Expend Funds to Design and Fabricate the Enhanced Artistic Treatment of an Additional East Bay Bus Rapid Transit Station (BRT Station) at Georgia Way in the City of San Leandro and to Appropriate $49,500 from General Fund Reserves and Transfer the Funds to the City Manager's Contingency Fund
 
Body
WHEREAS, AC Transit has undergone a comprehensive process working with artists and the community to develop a program to artistically enhance BRT stations along the BRT Corridor; and
 
WHEREAS, AC Transit has allocated $1.5 million to fund this artistic initiative which will provide basic art at all BRT stations and enhanced art at select stations, including one station in San Leandro; and
 
WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro has determined that the community would benefit from the enhancement of two stations - the Downtown San Leandro and the Georgia Way Stations - based upon the prominence of these locations; and
 
WHEREAS, AC Transit has agreed to enhance an additional station if the City pays the $49,500 cost to design and fabricate the artistic enhancements.  
 
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows:
 
1.      The recitals above are hereby true and correct and incorporated herein.  
 
2.      The City Council appropriates $49,500 from General Fund Economic Uncertainty Reserves for these BRT Station enhancements and transfers such funds to the City Manager's Contingency Fund (Account #010-14-015).
 
3.  The City Council authorizes the City Manager to execute all documents to effect the intent of this resolution, subject to approval as to form by the City Attorney.
