RESOLUTION Approving Amendment No.1 to Non-Professional Services Agreement with George Salinas Tree Preservation for Annual Yarwood Sycamore Tree Trimming in the Amount of $54,832

WHEREAS, an agreement dated May 15, 2012, exists between the City of San Leandro ("City") and George Salinas Tree Preservation ("Contractor"), for annual tree trimming/maintenance of City-owned Yarwood Sycamores on major boulevards and adjacent side streets; and
WHEREAS, Contractor successfully fulfilled the contract for the past two years without an increase in unit cost; and
WHEREAS, City and Contractor desire to amend the agreement to account for Contractor's increased unit cost (per tree), with a resulting total that exceeds $50,000 (but is still substantially lower in cost than the apparent second low bidder); and
WHEREAS, Amendment No. 1 to the agreement, a copy of which is attached, has been presented to this City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said amendment to the agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows:
That said amendment is hereby approved and execution by the City Manager is hereby authorized.
