RESOLUTION to Award a Construction Contract to Robert A. Bothman Construction for the Siempre Verde Park Rehabilitation Project, Project No. 2015.0270, and to Authorize the City Manager or His Designee to Negotiate and Approve Change Orders to Complete the Project (provides for the rehabilitation of Siempre Verde Park per the approved 2010 conceptual plan via a construction contract of $2,233,862.50 to be funded through a Housing and Community Development Grant, Park In-Lieu Fees, and General Funds; and the authority to issue individual and cumulative contract change orders up to specified limits)

WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro did, on August 3, 2015, publicly open, examine and declare all sealed proposals or bids for doing the work described in the bid documents for the subject project; and
WHEREAS, said proposals were submitted to the Engineering and Transportation Director who has found that the proposal hereinafter mentioned is the lowest responsive bid by a responsible bidder for doing said work.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows:
That said City Council hereby rejects all of said proposals or bids except that herein mentioned; hereby waives any irregularities in the proposal or bid of the lowest responsible bidder; and hereby awards the contract for doing said work to the lowest responsible bidder therefore, to wit Robert A. Bothman Construction, in the amount of $2,233,862.50 for the base bid and all four additive bid items, which are (a) Irrigation well, (b) curb bulb-out on Park Street, (c) arbor shade canopy and (d) ping pong tables and shade canopies at picnic tables; and
That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to negotiate and approve individual change orders up to a maximum of $200,000.00 each.
