SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Staff recommends that the City Council approve a resolution to adopt the salary schedules for the Assistant City Manager and Police Chief.
BACKGROUND
On June 1, 2015 and January 1, 2016, the Assistant City Manager and Police Chief received salary increases in accordance with the terms of their respective employment agreements.
In accordance with California Code of Regulations Section 570.5, a salary schedule is required in a format that identifies the position title, the pay rate, the effective date, the range, and be duly approved and adopted by the employer’s governing body. Approval of the salary schedules will comply with CalPERS’ requirement for publicly available pay schedules.
Fiscal Impacts
The 2015-16 General Fund adopted budget will be adjusted to reflect increases in the Assistant City Manager and Police Chief’s salary and benefits of approximately $25,000 total. . The additional cost of the increases will be covered by salary savings for FY 2015-16.
