RESOLUTION Approving and Authorizing the City Manager to Execute All Documents to Effect the Purchase and Outfitting of 11 Police Fleet Vehicles, in an Amount not to Exceed $501,148, Contingent Upon City Council Approval and Adoption of the 2015-16 and 2016-17 Budget Adjustments

 

Body

 

WHEREAS, the City annually replaces police vehicles according to a replacement schedule; and

WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2014-046 that approved a budget adjustment for the Police Department to replace vehicles in its fleet; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2015-075 that approved and authorized the lease of police vehicles as part of the replacement cycle; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2015-173 authorizing Priority 1 to maintain, service, and outfit police vehicles; and

 

WHEREAS, staff proposes procuring 11 vehicles to replace portions of its aging fleet using funds from fiscal year 2015-16 and 2016-17; and

 

WHEREAS, staff will include local dealerships in the competitive bid process and the total amount of the purchase will not exceed $501,148.

 

NOW THEREFORE the City Council of the City of San Leandro resolves as follows:

 

1.                     That the City Manager is authorized to execute a purchase agreement and all other documents necessary to effect the acquisition described herein, and in the associated staff report.
