RESOLUTION Authorizing the City Manager to Appropriate $38,000 from Measure B Bicycle and Pedestrian funds to Augment Funds from a California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) Grant to Conduct Traffic Safety Education Programs for Youth and Older Adults and Approving a Consulting Services Agreement with Safe Moves to Conduct Traffic Safety Education Programs for Youth and Older Adults, Project No. 150-38-339 (approves agreement for the not-to-exceed amount of $156,000)
Body
WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro has been awarded a $134,000 California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) grant for Traffic Safety Education Programs in San Leandro K-8 public schools and for older adults; and
WHEREAS, after reviewing proposals from two consultants, staff recommends Safe Moves should be retained to conduct the traffic safety education programs, for an amount not-to-exceed $156,000; and
WHEREAS, an additional $38,000 must be appropriated to fund the consultant’s scope of services as well as City staff time, training and supporting materials; and
WHEREAS, a Consultant Services Agreement between the City of San Leandro and Safe Moves, a copy of which is attached hereto, was presented to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends the approval of said agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows:
Funds in the amount of $38,000 from Measure B Bicycle and Pedestrian funds are appropriated to Project No. 150-38-339; and
That said Consultant Services Agreement is hereby approved, and execution thereof by the City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized.
