BACKGROUND
The Project Updates discussion item will review for information purposes only projects in various stages of implementation and specifically review the MacArthur Boulevard Streetscape - MacArthur/Superior Roundabout, Street Rehabilitation Projects, Bicycle & Pedestrian Master Plan and other City projects of interest to the Facilities and Transportation Committee.
Analysis
MacArthur Boulevard Streetscape - MacArthur/Superior Roundabout is in the preliminary design stage. Staff will forward three alternatives to the community to seek input on the final design. The results of the community outreach will be given to the Facilities and Transportation Committee to make the final decision on the direction for this improvement project.
Street rehabilitation construction work is complete, speed humps have been installed on Warden Avenue, Dolores Avenue and 136th Avenue and replaced on Broadmoor Blvd and Orchard Avenue. The design for the upcoming street maintenance and rehabilitation work is well underway and a preliminary striping plan for a road diet on San Leandro Boulevard is nearly complete.
The Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan is continuing and a neighborhood meeting was recently held to discuss the plan at the Marina Community Center on May 4, 2017.
