RESOLUTION Authorizing the City Manager to Enter into a Sole Source Procurement to Match Existing Equipment and Servicing of the Police Department's Fleet and a Non-Professional Services Agreement for a Not to Exceed Amount for Fiscal Year 2017-18 of $243,600 and for 2018-19 of $243,600 with Priority 1 Public Safety Equipment Installation Incorporated for Maintaining, Servicing, and Outfitting all Police Fleet Vehicles.

WHEREAS, an agreement between the City of San Leandro and Priority 1 Public Safety Equipment Installation Incorporated, a copy of which is attached, was presented to this City Council; and

WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof; and

WHEREAS, the City Council previously approved in Resolution 2015-173 a sole source agreement with Priority 1 Public Safety Equipment Installation Incorporated through Fiscal Year 2017; and

WHEREAS, the City annually replaces police vehicles according to a replacement schedule; and

WHEREAS, staff identified a service provider that can outfit to police specifications, maintain, and service all Police Department vehicles; and

WHEREAS, a sole source procurement is justified under California Public Contract Code section 3400 for Priority 1 Public Safety Equipment Installation, Incorporated because the equipment and services provided by vendor must match the equipment on the City's existing vehicles; and

WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement.

NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows:

That in accordance with California Public Contract Code section 3400, the City Council makes a sole source justification to procure from Priority 1 Public Safety Equipment Installation Incorporated so that the new equipment will match equipment already in use on existing City vehicle fleet assets; and
