RESOLUTION Approving a Consulting Services Agreement with BKF Engineers for On-Call Engineering Plan Check, City Surveyor, Land Surveying and Engineering Inspection Services in an Amount Not-to-Exceed $300,000 for Three Years

WHEREAS, the Engineering and Transportation Department Project Development and Land Development Divisions provide engineering services for public projects and private land development projects; and
WHEREAS, the Engineering and Transportation Department seeks to provide timely and efficient service to residents, visitors, other City departments, and private land developers; and
WHEREAS, staff issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) seeking civil engineering and land surveying consulting firms to assist with engineering projects as needed; and
WHEREAS, after reviewing RFQ responses from eight consultants, staff recommends that BKF Engineers should be one of three consultants to be retained to provide on-call consulting services in an amount not to exceed $300,000 for a period of three years; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council authorize the City Manager to enter into a Consulting Services Agreement between the City and BKF Engineers, copies of which are attached and presented to this City Council; and
WHEREAS, a blanket purchase order will be requested for the Consultant. Consultant costs will be charged either to projects in the Capital Improvement Program, or as a direct cost to land developers applying for entitlements or permits; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows:
That said agreement is hereby approved and execution by the City Manager is hereby authorized.
That the consultant, as determined by the City Clerk in consultation with the City Attorney, may be required to file a Form 700, as regulated by the California Fair Political Practices Commission.
