RESOLUTION Authorizing the City Manager to Enter into a Purchase Agreement for the Acquisition of a Fire Ladder Truck from Pierce Manufacturing Inc. for a not-to-exceed price of $1,260,000

WHEREAS, the Alameda County Fire Department (ACFD), serves as the City's fire department, has a need to replace its existing fire apparatus; and
WHEREAS, although the City contracts with the ACFD for fire services, all facilities and equipment, including fire trucks, are owned and provided by the City; and
WHEREAS, the bid price by Pierce Manufacturing for the 2017 fire ladder truck is not to exceed $1,260,000, which includes costs for inspection, delivery, and sales tax; and
WHEREAS, the City proposes to purchase the fire truck by piggy-backing on Alameda County’s current bid and benefit from the County's bid process.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of San Leandro as follows:

To approve the resolution authorizing acquisition of a fire ladder truck from Pierce Manufacturing and authorizing the City Manager to execute the purchase agreement and other documents necessary to finance the acquisition. |
