2. DISCUSSION ITEMS

2.A 18-068 Staff Report for a presentation on Euclid Avenue/Court One-Way Traffic Flow Reversal

Director Keith Cooke welcomed David Mahama, P.E. from DKS Associates who presented specific data analysis and trends on existing traffic, parking and safety on Euclid Avenue.

Principal Engineer Michael Stella provided an update on the AC Transit Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project that will install a traffic signal at the Euclid Avenue/East 14th Street intersection for pedestrian safety. The new traffic signal provides an opportunity to reverse the one-way traffic flow on Euclid Avenue. Reversing the traffic flow has potential benefits and drawbacks in relationship to school drop-offs/pick-ups and cut-through traffic.
