Staffreport
SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Staff recommends that the City Council approve a resolution authorizing the City Manager to amend an agreement with ConvergeOne to install and configure upgraded Cisco firewall technology. The contract was for an amount not to exceed $104,000.00; however, tax and freight charges were not included in the original proposal. Thus, the total project came to $109,301.61.
BACKGROUND
On July 16, 2018 the City Council approved a consulting services agreement with ConvergeOne to install redundant Cisco Firepower 2140 Next-Generation firewalls enabling new threat defense systems and protection from hardware failure. The original proposal excluded freight and tax charges.
Analysis
In January of 2019, the City's IT Division successfully completed the upgrade to the City's firewalls. However, upon reviewing the final invoice it was determined that the original proposal from the vendor did not include estimates for tax, freight and shipping charges. As such, those costs brought the project total to $109,301.61; $5,301.61 more than the budgeted amount of $104,000.00.
Staff recommends that the City Council approve a resolution authorizing the City Manager to amend the agreement with ConvergeOne to add $5,301.61 from the FY 2018-2019 IT operating budget.
