2.A. 19-167 Staff Report for Presentation from Common Networks and Discussion about Residential Broadband Service in San Leandro

Chief Technology Officer Tony Batalla provided an overview regarding residential broadband services. Common Networks provided a presentation on an alternative high-speed internet option for San Leandro residents and an opportunity to partner with the City of San Leandro.

Committee Requests/Direction to Staff:
Council member Cox is interested in the idea of providing affordable choices to San Leandro residents but is concerned with reliability especially servicing older homes in San Leandro.

Vice Mayor Lopez addressed permissions and partnerships made with the City that garner the use of public assets for community benefit.
