Title

RESOLUTION of the City of San Leandro City Council to Approve and Authorize the City Manager to Execute a Non-Professional Services Agreement with Synagro-WWT, Inc., in the amount not to exceed $262,500 for the Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP) Sludge Haul 2019-20 Project and an Appropriation of the Water Pollution Control Plant Enterprise Fund Balance in the Amount of $52,500 for the Purpose of Hauling Sludge

 

Body

WHEREAS, City staff sought competitive bids for the removal of 5,000 tons of sludge from the WPCP and the lowest bidder was Synagro-WWT, Inc., with a bid of $52.50 per ton for a total of $262,500 for 5,000 tons; and

WHEREAS, an agreement between the City of San Leandro and Synagro-WWT, Inc., a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, was presented to the City Council; and

WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof and desires to award a contract to Synagro-WWT, Inc. for removal of 5,000 tons of sludge; and

WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement.

NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows:

1.                     That for Fiscal Year 2019-20 an addtional appropriation of funds be made from the Water Pollution Control Plant Fund balance in the amount of $52,500 to account 593-51-002-5190; and

2.                     That the expenditure of these funds to pay for removal of sludge at the WPCP is authorized; and

3.                     That the City Council awards the agreement, substantially in the form presented, to Synagro-WWT, Inc. as the lowest bidder, in the amount not to exceed $262,500 and the City Manager is authorized to execute the agreement; and

4.                     That the City Manager is authorized to make non-substantial revisions to said agreement, subject to the approval of the City Attorney; and

5.                     That an original executed agreement shall be attached to and made part of this resolution.
