Title

RESOLUTION of the City of San Leandro City Council to Approve and Authorize the City Manager to Execute a Sole Source Purchase with Owen Equipment for a Sewer Cleaner for an Amount Not to Exceed $350,349.99 and to Appropriate  $96,432.99 from the Water Pollution Control Plant Fund to the Equipment Maintenance Fund

 

Body

WHEREAS, a purchase estimate was presented to this City Council; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends the purchase of such equipment; and

 

WHEREAS, the equipment replacement funds in the amount of $253,917.00 are budgeted and available in the Equipment Maintenance Fund - Vehicle Purchase Account 690-16-002-7510 to pay for the sewer cleaner; and

 

WHEREAS, a sole source purchase is justified because this sewer cleaner matches the cleaner already in use with which staff is familiar.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows:

 

1.                     That said purchase estimate of $350,349.99 substantially in the form presented is hereby approved and purchase of the equipment by the City Manager is hereby authorized; and 

 

2.                     That for Fiscal Year 2019-20 an additional appropriation of funds shall be made from the Water Pollution Control Plant Fund balance in the amount of $96,432.99 to account 690-16-002-7510; and

 

3.                     That a sole source purchase is justified under the City’s Municipal Code section 1-6-315 and California Public Contract Code section 3400 to match other products already in use on City equipment.
