Title

RESOLUTION of the City of San Leandro City Council to Approve a Reduction in the Number of Vehicle Travel Lanes from Six to Four and Installation of Class IV Bicycle Lanes on Hesperian Boulevard from Fairmont Drive to Springlake Drive (provides for Council approval of repurposing one travel lane in each direction on Hesperian Boulevard for use as a Class IV bicycle lane)

 

Body

WHEREAS, a traffic engineering report evaluating the impact of a reduction in the number of travel lanes is presented to this City Council; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof; and

 

WHEREAS, the Engineering and Transportation Director recommends approval of a reduction in travel lanes from three to two in each direction and installation of Class IV Bicycle Lanes on Hesperian Boulevard from Fairmont Drive to Springlake Drive.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows:

 

That Hesperian Boulevard from Fairmont Drive to Springlake Drive shall be restriped such that there are two vehicle travel lanes and one Class IV bicycle lane in each direction; and

 

That there may be a future need to modify the roadway to meet the County’s Congestion Management Plan requirements.
