RESOLUTION of the City of San Leandro City Council to Approve Paid Leave for City of San Leandro Employees Who Must Quarantine Due to Work-Related COVID-19 Exposure

WHEREAS, the health and safety of City of San Leandro’s employees is a top priority during the COVID-19 pandemic;
WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro will provide paid leave (“Quarantine Leave”) for employees who must quarantine due to work-related COVID-19 exposure;
WHEREAS, employees would be provided up to 80 hours of Quarantine Leave if exposed to COVID-19 at work and be paid their regular base pay for the hours they were scheduled to work during the quarantine period;
WHEREAS, the Quarantine Leave will be provided between January 1, 2021 through June 30, 2021; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager is authorized to extend the availability of Quarantine Leave if necessary based on the pandemic situation.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro hereby RESOLVES to provide paid Quarantine Leave to employees who must quarantine due to work-related COVID-19 exposure, subject to such negotiated conditions.
