RESOLUTION of the City of San Leandro City Council Authorizing the City Manager to Execute Purchase Agreement(s) for the Purchase and Outfitting of Eight Police Vehicles, Two of Which Will be Hybrid Vehicles, in an Amount not to Exceed $513,822.19

WHEREAS, the City annually replaces police vehicles according to a replacement schedule and the Council deferred all police vehicle replacements in Fiscal Year 2020-2021; and

WHEREAS, staff proposes procuring eight vehicles, including the equipment needed to outfit each vehicle; and

WHEREAS, staff included local dealerships in the competitive bid process, receiving two responsive bids-one bid from San Leandro Ford for the purchase of five Ford Interceptors, two of which are Hybrid vehicles; and one bid from Elk Grove Auto Group for the purchase of three Dodge Chargers; and

WHEREAS, the total amount of the purchase for all eight vehicles, including delivery, will not exceed $364,820.75; and

WHEREAS, the outfitting of the new vehicles will be completed by Priority One with whom the City is already in contract to purchase and install all the necessary equipment to outfit each vehicle according to Police Department specifications and estimated to cost $149,001.44 for all eight vehicles; and

WHEREAS, all associated funding is included in the Asset Seizure Fund (F146) of the city's Fiscal Year 2021-2022 Adopted Budget in Accounts 146-21-014 and 146-21-017.

NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro RESOLVES as follows:

That the eight replacement vehicles are approved for purchase and outfitting (excluding computers) to police department specifications, for a sum not to exceed $513,822.19; and
