Proclamation to Honor Kim Pace and her Service to the Youth and the Community
WHEREAS, Kimberly (Kim) Pace began her career in youth development at the YMCA in 2004. Kim studied abroad and attended the University of East Anglia in England and received her BA from San Francisco State University; and
WHEREAS, Kim began working at the Boys and Girls Club of San Leandro in 2016 and played a pivotal role in the transition of the existing building into an innovative 21st Century model; and
WHEREAS, Kim was President of the San Leandro Rotary Club in 2017 and also serves as a member of the San Leandro Improvement Association and serves as a member of the California Alliance Government Relations Committee for Boys & Girls Clubs of America; and
WHEREAS, Kim became the Chief Executive Officer of the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Leandro in 2021. She and her team have lead the Boys and Girls Club of San Leandro from a club serving 1,200 youth per day at 11 sites to a club that will serve over 3,500 youth a day and 22 sites; and
WHEREAS, Kim also led the Boys and Girls Club of San Leandro in opening a dedicated teen center and community hub which will serve an additional 2,000+ teens annually. She leads quality training and growth opportunities for the 111 staff members with plans to double this number; and
WHEREAS, Kim has remained committed to engaging with and mentoring anyone seeking to enrich their personal leadership skills and abilities and was featured in the Women's Leaders Magazine, September 2022 issue as one of the 20 most Inspiring Women Leaders of 2022.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Pauline Russo Cutter, Mayor of the City of San Leandro, do hereby proclaim that Kim Pace for her accomplishments and service to the San Leandro Community.
