City Council Interviews of Applicants and Selection Process for City Councilmember, District 1
body
At the Council meeting on February 5, 2024, Council provided direction to staff and created the process to fill the vacant District 1 seat, as noted below:
• The Ad Hoc committee, comprised of Mayor Gonzalez, and Councilmembers Aguilar and Bowen shall review the application packets and meet to determine who shall move forward to be interviewed by Council.
• The Ad Hoc committee shall choose a maximum of eight (8) applicants and submit the list to the City Clerk by 12:00 pm on Friday, February 9, 2024.
• Council will attend a Special meeting on Tuesday, February 13, with a start time of 6:00 pm.
• On February 13, Council shall interview, discuss, nominate, and appoint a nominee to fill the D1 vacancy.
• Tuesday, February 20 the appointee will be sworn-in at the Regular Council meeting, allowing their family and friends to attend.
• Council will avail themselves on Tuesday, February 27 for a Special meeting, with a start time of 7:00 pm, on an as-needed basis.
The Ad Hoc committee met on February 7, 2024 and selected the following six (6) applicants to move forward to be interviewed on Tuesday, February 13, 2024:

• Pcyeta Stroud
• Sbeydeh Walton
