SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Staff recommends that the City Council approve the resolution authorizing acquisition of a replacement fire ladder truck. The resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute the purchase agreement and other documents necessary to finance the acquisition.

Currently, the apparatus in City service includes five engines and two ladder trucks. The 2017-18 Fire Service Budget approved by the City Council included the replacement of a ladder truck based at Station 12. Analysis

The bid price for the Pierce Fire Ladder Truck is not to exceed $1,260,000, which includes costs for inspection, delivery, and sales tax. The fire truck's price is based on a competitive bid obtained by the Houston Galveston Area Council.

Pierce expects to deliver the Fire Truck within 425 days of receiving payment.

Fiscal Impacts

The total cost including inspection, delivery, performance ...
